We continue our deep dive into Holst’s masterpiece The Planets and take a close look at the fourth movement, Jupiter. The Planets were written by English composer Gustav Holst between 1914 and 1916. This work has found great relevancy in the world of modern film music, particularly with large epic action adventure movies. After tackling Mars, Venus, and Mercury, ASA President David Das joins composer, orchestrator, and conductor Neal Desby move on to discuss the big, broad orchestral themes of Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity.
