DESCRIPTION:Join us on Zoom on March 29th at 10am for Adventures in Listening! We’ll be listening to music by YOU and giving constructive feedback as a group. Jeff Toyne\, Edouard Brenneisen and other special guests will be joining the conversation and giving feedback as well! The theme of this session is Prestige TV! Think shows with the highest production value\, complex storytelling\, and top-tier talent. You music can evoke a range of moods\, such as wonderment\, conflict\, or exhilaration and can be any genre. The possibilities for your submissions are endless! \nAs in previous sessions\, we’ll keep the tracks anonymous\, so you don’t need to take credit (or blame) if you choose not to. This is a casual event for all levels and a great way to get more ears on your music! The discussion can range from orchestration to production and everything in between. All ASA members are invited to submit their track via the Google form. DESCRIPTION:Join us on May 17th at LAPR for a rare event with renowned studio percussionist Alex Acuña\, a musician whose artistry has graced some of the most iconic recordings and film scores in history. \nIn this intimate evening\, Alex will share his insights on the composer-performer collaboration — how to communicate effectively to get the sound you’re hearing in your head and to facilitate the musician’s own creativity and contributions. Alex will also perform a live rescore of select works from his film career\, offering a rare window into the creative process in real time. \nSelect participants will have the chance to join Alex at the instruments\, recording new sounds and experiencing firsthand what it means to create with one of the world’s most recorded percussionists.
