The Goss – Gershwin Challenge

March 21, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

**** MARCH 14th EVENT IS CANCELLED****

***RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 21ST AS A FREE ONLINE STREAM!***

Get ready for the latest challenge event hosted by the Academy of Scoring Arts! On March 21st, 2020, we’ll be hosting preeminent orchestration teacher and composer Thomas Goss for a VIRTUAL visit. As in years previous, Thomas will be our guest host as we open up an orchestration challenge to our community.

This year, it’s the Goss-Gershwin Challenge. Volunteers have picked either of two provided excerpts from Gershwin’s Preludes for Piano, and orchestrated the excerpt for an ensemble of their choice. Join us on March 21st as Thomas will join us and lead the conversation as we examine as many submissions as we have time for. Thomas is well-known worldwide for his Orchestration Online community, his YouTube channel with hundreds of orchestration resources, and his Patreon channel.

There’s no fee to enter, and no prize to win. This is a chance to get valuable critiques on orchestration work and sharpen your skills as a composer and orchestrator. Visit our dedicated page with more details about how the challenge works.

STAY TUNED FOR A LINK TO THE LIVE STREAM!
