A Conversation with John Powell

On October 11, 2020, the Academy of Scoring Arts, in tandem with Fans of Film Music, hosted John Powell for an extended conversation with interviewer Kaya Savas. John spoke across numerous topics, including many of his scores and inspiration, establishing trust with a director, the Spitfire Westworld competition, why he used a kazoo orchestra in Chicken Run, a visit to the scoring stage from John Williams, and he reveals what he considers to be his most personal score.
