The Academy of Scoring Arts has quietly become one of the most rewarding communities I’ve found in LA. Every session I’ve attended — from Tim Davies walking us through practical orchestration techniques and tricks, to Gordy Haab sharing stories behind Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, to Michael Paraskevas unpacking Agatha All Along — has been thoughtful, generous, and packed with insight you can’t get anywhere else. What I appreciate most is the relaxed, smart atmosphere they foster — it never feels overly formal, but you always leave feeling sharper, more inspired, and more connected to the scoring world

It’s incredible the kind of events ASA has been doing - inviting A-list composers to break down their cues and share their workflow, sometimes even giving us a glimpse of their DAW sessions. I have learnt and grown so much as a composer thanks to the ASA
