Westworld: Scoring Competition Winners Roundtable

November 8, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Earlier in the year, Spitfire Audio collaborated with HBO’s Westworld to host a scoring competition and over 11 thousand composers participated. Unfortunately, the conversation following the announcement of the winners focused less on the music and more on the controversy surrounding the selections. This online panel discussion aims to correct that. We’ll watch each composer’s submission, discuss their individual creative process, and give the winners an opportunity to discuss each others work as a group. We’ll cover conceptualizing a score, the differences in process when competing for a project vs scoring a project, as well as more “technical” topics such as melody, harmony, and music production.

Moderator – Greg Nicolett and Reuven Herman
Panelists – David Kudell, Rachel Hardy, Andrew Morgan Smith, Oleg Troyanovsky, and Kacper Stachowiak
